"I am running for the Florida House of Representatives to use my years of community, business, and public service experience to foster economic opportunity, expand health care coverage, protect our schools, and demand equal justice."
~Kelly
Kelly Skidmore has fourteen years of legislative experience in Tallahassee, serving Palm Beach County for four years in the State House (2006-2010) and working as a legislative aide to Ron Klein in the House and Senate for 10 years prior. As a State Representative, Kelly fought hard for access to affordable healthcare, women’s reproductive health care freedom, commonsense gun safety measures, and increased funding for our traditional public schools.

During her two terms in Tallahassee, she earned a reputation among her colleagues as a thoughtful problem-solver who was able to get things accomplished, even as a member of the minority party. She received praise for passing landmark legislation that cracked down on the out of control “pain management clinics”, also known as pill mills, which served as havens for prescription drug trafficking in South Florida.

She’s now running to continue the work she started by bringing her full depth of experience to solve the issues we face in Palm Beach County and across Florida. Among Kelly’s top priorities are ensuring emergency preparedness as our state continues to battle COVID-19, fixing our state’s broken unemployment system, and getting Florida’s economy open for business again in a way that prioritizes public health and safety.
Kelly currently serves as a public relations specialist for the Marine Industries Association of South Florida, the largest trade organization in the Southeast United States dedicated to promoting, protecting, and growing 142,000 jobs regionally in marine businesses. Kelly and her husband, Ray, live in Boca Raton. They have a daughter, Mary Alice.
